Today's wedding news: More ways to cut wedding costs...

People are spending less this year on weddings. The number of articles written about cost saving measures is amazing. The Examiner has suggestions like renting rather than buying equipment, purchasing used pieces and having a rehearsal dinner at home rather than in a restaurant.

An older piece in Smart Money says to streamline the contents of your wedding invitation envelope, find a venue that requires little work to decorate, rent a fake wedding cake and then serve slices of a sheet cake for dessert, buy your bridal gown online, get vendor prices fixed in a contract, negotiate with vendors, limit the liquor selection and borrow from other brides (also satisfying the "something borrowed" tradition.
