In a multi-part series, Wedding-Scoops.com asked a number of wedding bloggers -- those with no other professional interest in the wedding industry -- the same five questions about what keeps them going day after day. In the eighth installment, Wedding-Scoops.com talked to Ashley King, the creator of Ashley's Bride Guide, a Nashville wedding planning resource for brides. (See the last installment here.)
Here is what King had to say (King only responded to four of the five questions by press time):
Why are you a wedding blogger?
I started my blog after I got married in 2005. Nashville didn’t have a blog or any really good resource that spoke from a bride's perspective. Now there are many great Nashville bridal bloggers and I’m happy to spread the word so everyone knows about them too.
What do you enjoy most about wedding blogging?
Finding great new wedding resources available for Nashville brides. Every time I discover something new, I’m excited. Every bridal show is like Christmas!
What do you like least about wedding blogging?
When I forget to blog, which has only happened like twice in two years. I guess that’s not too bad considering I’ve done over 700 blog posts!
What do you consider to be your wedding expertise?
My expertise is taking an abundance of info and distilling it into digestible nuggets. Google is often overwhelming but with my site, I try to present easy-to-find, organized info. I also am an expert at cake tasting. It's something that I’m glad to do, over and over.
