5 questions for The Indie Bride blogger

Erika Pitera and her husband
In a multi-part series, asked a number of wedding bloggers -- those with no other professional interest in the wedding industry -- the same five questions about what keeps them going day after day.

In the sixth installment, talked to Erika Pitera, editor-in-chief of The Indie Bride blog, which provides wedding advice and inspiration and features real weddings and showcases vendors. (See the last installment here.)

Here is what Pitera had to say:

Why are you a wedding blogger?
I love seeing the passion and thought that goes into planning a wedding -- the tiny details that really make the day magical for the bride and groom. Weddings are also highly visual, so there are very few things that are more beautiful to look at and write about.

What do you enjoy most about wedding blogging?
I think discovering exceptional wedding vendors and photographers and featuring their work is my favorite part, though I enjoy dreaming up inspiration boards myself, as well.

What do you like least about wedding blogging?
Envy! I think everyone who blogs about weddings has a touch of envy now and then for the beautiful events we see.

What do you consider to be your wedding expertise?
I'll be the first to tell you I'm not a wedding expert. I planned an incredibly small, simple and intimate wedding for myself. I might not be an expert in the field, but I have a blast doing what I do.

Where do you get your inspiration?
I'm inspired by everything around me but particularly by music. Whatever I'm currently listening to really influences my mood and consequently inspires my posts in some shape or form.
