A "Day of the Dead" wedding
Katie and Chuck married with a "Day of the Dead" theme, according to Sasha Reichart of cakelava, the Hawaii-based cake company that made the couple's wedding cake (see above). The couple celebrated the annual Mexican holiday, Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), at their wedding last Saturday. At the bottom of the cake, the couple had cakelava write, "hasta que la muerte nos separe!" which means, "'til death do us part." The wedding was at the Loulu Palm Estate in Hawaii. But why would someone want a wedding with this theme? "The hipsters/artist types often gravitate towards this theme because of the color and artistry," Reichert said in an e-mail.
